Karen Finerman (confirmed speaker)

Karen Finerman, co-founder of Metropolitan Capital Advisors in June 1992, began her career as a trader at First City Capital, a risk arbitrage fund of the Belzberg Family and in 1990 became Lead Research Analyst for the Risk Arbitrage department at DLJ Securities Corp.

Karen serves on the Board of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and is also a Trustee of Montefiore Medical Center, sitting on their Investment Committee. Karen appears as a permanent member on CNBC’s Fast Money, one of the most watched business programs in America.

Bill Ackman is the managing member and portfolio manager of Pershing Square Capital Management, L.P., a concentrated research-intensive fundamental value investor in long and occasionally short investments in the public markets. Pershing Square has played an active role in creating value at companies including Wendy’s International, McDonald’s, Ceridian Corporation, and Sears Canada.

Bill has a demonstrated commitment to community service which is shown by his leadership in educational and charitable organizations. He is a member of the Board of Dean’s Advisors of the Harvard Business School and the Board of General Growth Properties, Inc. Bill is also a Trustee of The Pershing Square Foundation, a charitable foundation he launched in 2007.

Prior to forming Pershing Square, Mr. Ackman co-founded Gotham Partners, L.P., a public and private equity investment partnership. Prior to Gotham Partners, Mr. Ackman began his career in real estate investment banking at Ackman Brothers & Singer, Inc. Bill received an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Harvard College.
